Gridlife Laguna Seca

I’ve been shooting cars and motorsports for the better part of 20 years, and I’ve lived in California for 12 of them, yet somehow until this past September when my wife and I decided to drive up and camp for the weekend at Gridlife, and let me say, it’s about damn time. The amount of racing and drifting packed into one weekend makes Gridlife one of the best bang for your buck events on the calendar.

Mike from Stanceworks started the weekend off with some transmission trouble but after an all-nighter was able to turn some laps and looked phenomenal doing so.

I don’t know the backstory to how this car made it stateside but seeing an OG D1GP machine on this side of the pond really tickles my nostalgic fancy.

You all know how much I love Mike Reyes’ A90 Supra. Seeing it bomb down the Corkscrew was pretty sick.

The infamous Corkscrew wasn’t so kind to everyone.

Very few people in drifting are as cool, or have hair as good as Dai.

Larry chasing Forrest is just rad.

12 years later and I’m still salty about my DC5 getting stolen from in front of my home in LA.
